What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, performance, and function, and applies the sciences of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and motor learning. Kinesiology utilizes science-based approaches, research, and assessment to aid in the enhancement of human performance and to assist in the prevention or rehabilitation of injury and other physiological conditions. I will put you through these assessments to get started in the right direction.
Applications of kinesiology to human health (i.e., human kinesiology) include biomechanics and orthopedics; strength and conditioning; sport psychology; methods of rehabilitation, such as physical and occupational therapy; and sport and exercise. I am experienced with diverse conditions such as car accidents (ICBC), post-surgical rehabilitation, and many others.
Kinesiology is for those who want to:
-
Rehabilitate an acute/chronic injury
- Be assessed and be treated for biomechanical causes of pain/discomfort
-
Improve flexibility, mobility, and movement
-
Post-car accident/personal injury rehabilitation
-
Improve performance
-
Be educated on ways to improve health and fitness
